November 15, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust, the charitable arm of DFI, recently awarded scholarships from the Stanley Merjan City College of New York (CCNY) Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund and the George J. Tamaro Manhattan College Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund. The students were recognized at the 15th DFI Educational Trust Gala in New York on November 3.

October 13, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: The Deep Foundations Institute (DFI) Educational Trust, the charitable arm of DFI, announces that Pile Dynamics, Inc. (PDI) has donated $50,000 to its Goble Rausche Likins Scholarship Fund in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary.

September 1, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Jared Martinez, a master’s degree candidate at Portland State University, is the winner of the DFI Educational Trust Student Paper Competition. His focus is on geotechnical engineering, with research topics including seismic load combinations and liquefaction susceptibility of low plasticity silts. Martinez has more than 5 years of geotechnical consulting experience in the U.S. Pacific Northwest.

August 8, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: DFI Educational Trust has awarded six Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Professional Development Grants of $1,750 each to women working in the deep foundations industry. The recipients are invited to attend DFI’s 47th Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland, October 4-7. The grant includes complimentary conference registration and covers related expenses for attending the conference.

August 4, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: The DFI Educational Trust awarded $195,750 in scholarships this spring, which is the largest amount ever provided by the Trust during the spring round of applications. More scholarships will be awarded in the fall, thanks to the generosity of many donors and fundraising event participants and sponsors.

July 7, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: Jerry A. DiMaggio, P.E., D.GE, M.ASCE, senior principal engineer − associate at Applied Research Associates (ARA), is the recipient of DFI’s highest award bestowed to an individual, the Distinguished Service Award (DSA). This award recognizes individuals who have made exceptionally valuable contributions to the advancement of the deep foundations industry. The award is being presented at the Awards Banquet during DFI’s 47th Annual Conference on Deep Foundations, October 4-7 in National Harbor, Maryland.

April 1, 2022, Hawthorne, N.J.: The DFI Educational Trust, through the DFI WiDF Committee Fund, is awarding Women in Deep Foundations (WiDF) Professional Development Grants of $1,750 each to women involved in design or construction of deep foundations.
